Description
The Alocasia Pink Nobilis is one of the most elegant and “ethereal” members of the Alocasia family. It is a striking hybrid (often associated with Alocasia longiloba) known for its elongated, sword-like leaves and delicate pink accents. It offers a more airy, sophisticated silhouette compared to the chunky “Jewel” varieties.
Visual Profile
* The Foliage: The leaves are exceptionally long, narrow, and sharply pointed (sagittate). They are a deep, matte olive-to-forest green with a subtle metallic sheen.
* The Stems (Petioles): The standout feature is the stems, which are a beautiful, soft dusty pink. On some specimens, the pink can even extend into the primary veins on the underside of the leaf.
* Growth Habit: Unlike the compact Melo or Black Velvet, the Pink Nobilis is more upright and statuesque. It can reach heights of 2 to 3 feet, creating a dramatic vertical element in your collection.
Key Features
* Elegant Silhouette: Its narrow, “arrow-head” leaves give it a much more refined look than the rounded Alocasia varieties.
* Colour Contrast: The juxtaposition of the dark, moody leaves against the feminine pink stems makes it a favourite for interior styling.
* Rare Hybrid Appeal: While becoming more available, it still carries a “rare plant” prestige that collectors seek out.

Soil | Well-draining aroid mix. Needs a balance of moisture retention and aeration (Coco coir + Perlite).
Toxicity | Toxic. Keep away from pets and children.
